W[illiam] Wheeler Smith designed several other important late cast-iron buildings, notably 34-42 West 14th Street (see) and 361 Broadway, as well as the W. & J. Sloane store on Broadway and West 19th Street, with its superb cast-iron storefront columns. Angled window bays on the facade of 28 East 14th Street are especially unusual. Building facade reappeared in 1990s after later cladding was removed. | ||
