The Second Printing Revolution: Invention of Mass Media at the Grolier Club

The Grolier Club, America’s oldest society for book lovers, fosters the study, collecting, and appreciation of books and works on paper, their art, history, production, and commerce. VSNY attendees will be provided a tour of the upcoming exhibition covering the 19th-century transition of book production, from exclusively handcrafted to the mechanized production of papermaking, printing, illustration, typesetting, and bookbinding. The tour is curated and led by Jeremy Norman, featuring 150 books, prints, and artifacts from his collection, which are dated from 1800 to 1904.
After the exhibition, a docent will lead interested attendees through the rest of the Grolier Club’s 1910s building.
